Wind Power
Wind turbines are a renewable energy source that can provide electricity to power appliances and lighting within a building by generating energy from the wind and either using this energy directly or storing it in batteries.
With around 40% of Europe's wind energy blowing over the UK wind turbines are a great renewable energy source for lowering your energy bills and cutting your carbon footprint.
Wind turbines use large blades to catch the wind and revolve, driving a turbine which generates electricity. Obviously, the stronger the wind the more electricity is generated so some areas are more suitable than others and obstacles should be avoided such as trees, buildings or hills.
Speak to us today for some further advice as some wind turbines may require planning permission and not all areas are suitable for wind turbines as a renewable energy source.

Renewable Energy Grants
Renewable Energy Grants have now ended for wind turbines but there are some exciting renewable energy incentives available!
Renewable Energy Incentives
Designed to provide financial support to encourage individuals or businesses alike to switch to renewable energy sources. To meet the target of 15% renewable energy target by 2020, The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) need to develop a way of generating renewable energy in all sectors.
Feed in Tariffs (FIT) - Wind Turbine
Renewable energy grants have now ended for wind turbines however this was replaced with new Renewable Energy Incentives or Feed in Tariff's (FIT).
Feed In Tariffs became available in April 2010. Under this scheme energy suppliers make payments to homeowners or communities who generate their own electricity from renewable energy sources or low carbon sources such as Wind Turbines or Solar Electricity
Not only do customers have guaranteed payments for all electricity generated, they also pay separate amounts for any electricity exported back to the grid - before you consider the amount that you will save in energy bills!
